CHICAGO, Ill., – AMOpportunities, a leading healthcare education company, is proud to announce the appointment of John Danaher, MD, MBA, as its new Chief Executive Officer, effective Aug. 15, 2024. Danaher brings a wealth of experience in both the medical and education fields and a proven track record of success in leading organizations through significant growth periods.

A Visionary Leader for the Future

Danaher previously joined AMOpportunities as an Advisor and Chair of the company’s board. His appointment as CEO comes at a pivotal time in the company's transition to working more directly with healthcare schools and programs and driving workforce solutions for hospitals and healthcare organizations.  

With 30+ years of experience in healthcare and education, he has served as a faculty member at Harvard Medical School and Harvard School of Public Health and Chief Resident in Internal Medicine at Stanford University Medical Center. Danaher has also held critical roles as President at Kaplan, Elsevier, and at Adtalem where he was instrumental in driving improvement in student outcomes through digital solutions. He was also part of the early management team of WebMD and a White House Fellow.

Danaher succeeds Kyle Swinsky, who has served as CEO since 2013 when he co-founded the company. Under his leadership, AMO has become a leading online clinical training platform, propelled by 11 consecutive years of growth. The company has helped over thousands of students and hundreds of universities with their clinical education needs. Swinsky will continue to serve as President/Co-Founder and remain on the company’s Board of Directors and assist with the transition.
